What is body brushing?
Body brushing is a technique used to exfoliate and cleanse your skin, promoting a healthy and glowing appearance. It has excellent health benefits including increased circulation, cellulite reduction, smoother skin and, importantly, body brushing detoxifies the lymphatic system.
The best way to fake a fresh, golden glow is by removing your tan regularly! By that, we mean every 7 to 10 days, or sooner if you can’t wait to reapply a shiny new tan. But don’t just use any old loofah or exfoliating glove. Our Natural Sisal & Bamboo Exfoliating Mitt is made up of sustainably sourced materials that are gentle on the skin — even if yours is super sensitive.
We designed it with the principle of body brushing in mind. If you’re new to it, this technique boosts circulation and flushes toxins from the body. The result? Smoother, softer and healthier skin that’s ready for your next self-tanning session!
How do I remove my fake tan with an exfoliating mitt?
The short answer is: the same way you would with a regular ol’ exfoliating glove.
When you’re ready to remove your fake tan, pop on the exfoliating mitt and start working your way up the body, using small, circular motions. You’ll want to spend a little more time on dry or patchy areas to make sure you’re getting all of the tan off. Think the knees, ankles, elbows and feet. Combined with the Tan Remover (Pro Strength), and you’ve got yourself a winning combo!
There’s no need to wet the bamboo exfoliating glove or your skin; it actually works better on dry skin. Just like with body brushing, it’s best to use the exfoliating mitt before you shower. Since the mitt stimulates the lymphatic system, the warm water will rinse away the dead skin cells and any toxins the mitt brought to the surface, leaving your skin feeling fresh and squeaky-clean.
